This beautiful journal is made entirely of recycled cotton paper, incorporating recycled Indian newspaper on the front cover. The cotton used to make the paper is collected from the textile industry, turned into a pulp, and then turned into sheets of paper. This means they are tree-free and eco friendly!
Features hand-ripped Indian newspaper (either in English or Hindi) that covers the bottom half of the front cover, with a lemon green hand painted silhouette of a plant on top (covering the entire front cover). It has a quote on the back: “Rooted in the past, growing towards the future”.
Wasim was born and raised in Sanganer village, in west Rajasthan, India. His family has been in the paper making industry for over 80 years, and he inherited the art from his elders. Made from recycled cotton rags, the raw paper is then converted into beautiful products such as journals, albums and other types of social stationery without the aid of heavy machinery.
